We’re both avid travellers loving learning about other cultures, discovering new places and learning new things. We complement each other perfectly: while Patrick is an adventurer and sailor in body and soul, Anet is a passionate traveller inventing new ways, a talented artist and photographer. Together we have already made many trips around our beautiful country in a camper van, but we have also visited countries abroad. While Patrick transferred sailboats from the Canary Islands or camped in Iceland, Anet walked the Hong Kong mountains and admired the beauty of the Japanese temples.

Croatia then became our favourite yachting country, and its varied islands made it an ideal place to practice sailing. There we headed for our first voyage sailed together and began toying with the idea that we might one day live like this: looking at the starry sky overhead, feeling the wind in our faces, and freedom in our hearts. And then it was only a matter of time before one of us came up with the idea of stepping out of the comfort zone and going exploring the world. How else but from the deck of a sailboat?

The plan is simple: we buy a boat to move into and become liveaboards. Part two: ‘get acquainted’ with the boat by sailing in Europe, and thirdly: sail from the Canaries to the Caribbean, and on through Polynesia, Indonesia and Cape Town, until finally, hopefully, we make it back to Europe. Sounds easy, let’s see what the reality is! But we will do our best to fulfill our dream. Perhaps when we return home one day as seasoned sailors, our story may inspire other dreamers to overcome their fears and follow their hearts.

We are now trying to gain as much experience as possible in order to be ready for our long journey.
